Last week, as part of a plea deal, he got it. Two kinds. Circuit Court Judge Eric Bergstrom agreed to the unusual arrangement. Shortly after pleading guilty, Durham sat down to a feast of KFC chicken, Popeye’s fried chicken, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, carrot cake and Hagen-Dazs ice cream.

Shady Mayor of Detroit to do some time in jail

Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick will spend the night in jail after a judge ruled he violated the terms of his bond in his perjury case by making a business trip to Canada and not informing the court. Judge Ronald Giles ordered Kilpatrick to jail Thursday, a decision the judge said he would have made for any “John Six-Pack” defendant before him. The mayor made an unauthorized trip to Canada last month, leading the county prosecutor’s office to request Kilpatrick be punished and triggering the judge’s ruling.
