About Me I, Vermyttya Edwards was born in San Francisco on October 5, 1981. Not knowing as I got older I would take a dramatic interest in music. At the age of 6, I practiced singing in my room to myself in the mirror. With an imaginary mic in one hand and my dreams in the other. Throughout the school years I would audition and was chosen for school talent shows, black history programs, school plays and was apart of the school choir. I was an active singer in my church choir and volunteered to sing solos every Sunday. In the 10th grade, my cousin Sonja and I formed a group. We practiced singing, dancing and writing songs everyday, 7 days a week. We then started going with my grandmother Gloria to AWOL Records in Fairfield, California. Meeting various artist such as C-BO, E-40, Killa Tay, JT Tha Bigga figga, Conscious Daughters, Marvelous, Lunasicc, Pizzo, Mississippi and many more. My cousin Sonja and I then recorded our first song with Killa Tay called,”Death or Prison”. I took such strong interest in music I wanted to learn other things. The C.E.O. of Vault Productions, Jimmie Weaver taught me in one day to run a studio. Which led to me taking over for a few minutes, while he stepped out for the moment, recording Spice 1 in the recording booth. That was an honor to me. I had a lot of goals in my life which led to my cousin and I going our own ways. I started singing background for various artist, staying in the studio and showing major interest. In the 11th grade I moved to Lufkin, Texas to where I met Curtis who introduced me to Mopped Up Records. Which consist of two groups ADP and NFC.(Alley Dog Playas and North First Circle), which later on signed to Houston’s Suave House Records. Artist consist of, Boss Man, DJ Omega, Sandman, Thug Passion, Orange, Boo, 8 Piece, Awax, Anthony Willmore, Fred G and K.G, The Hubb Brothers, Wild C (R.I.P), Cellyphone (myself) and others. My first collaboration was with Anthony Willmore on a song called,”I Cry”. And a song with Sandman and Boo called,”Sky’s the Limit”, and a song with Wild C, 8 Piece, Boo and Tre’ called,”Phone Check”. Phone Check was a different side of me. Instead of singing, I wrote a rap verse. Doing okay in that field but, singing is my life. Still dreaming the dream and trying to strive on, in hopes of being discovered and having a long lifefull dream fulfilled. I’m now working on demo’s and contacting as many possible, hoping someone will give me my chance of a lifetime. I feel that by obtaining my Associates of Arts Degree in Business can someday give me the opportunity to start and run my own music company. Im a singer thats down for my cause. I get's money and stack it to the fullest. I talk southern, but im from da yey area. Doin' it grande!
