HipHopDX has obtained documentation from the state of Florida that lists the "definition of real" rapper's first real run-in with the law to have not taken place until two years ago, on April 12, 2006, when Plies, real name Algernod Lanier Washington, born May 22, 1976 would have been on the eve of his 30th birthday and just beginning his ascension to his current status of gold-certified rap star. But there are the occasional past tense references to what appear to be claims of his own criminal activity. One glaring example can be found during his lament on the suffering his alleged criminal activities caused his mother on "Runnin My Momma Crazy," in which he recollects:"Remember the nights, me sittin' up in a cold cell/I'm wakin' ya up out'cha sleep, it's me callin' you from jail." While passionate, his verse's claim that he was ever in a "cold cell" now appears to be untruthful, as according to the FDLE's report Plies was never in jail for any period of time prior to 2006.

Here is a detailed look at the new additions to the Air Jordan 1 line up (over 40+ pictures!). Over the past few weeks, there have been many new color-ways released sadly all in grade school and big kids sizes. Some Air Jordan fans have been extremely frustrated as they were not able to get these colors in their sizes, especially the Grapes! The last grape color-way release was in the Air Jordan 5 series. All four models were released earlier last month in grade school / big kids sizes and portray color schemes featuring bright, vibrant colorways. They included premium materials including leather, metallic based materials, detailed stitching, as well as colorful but still transparent outsoles (exception of the gold color-way). Ice Cube is a rapper, producer, actor, screenwriter, and film director with a production company. With so many things to focus on you wouldn't think there would be time to get in the studio for a follow up album to his eighth solo album, Laugh Now Cry Later. Have no fear, Cube is back in the studio working on his new album Raw Footage. Cube is touring overseas right now but he’ll be back in the US August 21st and he'll be here in the city at the Fillmore on August 26th!! Can't wait!
It seems like Erykah Badu will have something to really sing about...word on the street is that Badu is expecting. She’s been linked to successful rappers like Andre 3000 and N.W.A’s The D.O.C whom both fathered her first two kids. Erykah also had a fling with Common. However, none of them were responsible this time around. The father is thought to be producer turned rapper Jay Electronica, known mostly for his work on the new Nas album. There is also rumor that she wants to get married to Jay; more to come as this develops...congrats Mizz Badu!
Usher is said to be quietly talking with his mama Jonetta Patton about becoming his manager again. He replaced her last year with Benny Medina, the man who managed the careers of Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez and many others. Usher has reportedly been blaming Medina for the disappointing sales of his latest effort, Here I Stand. It debuted at #1, only selling 433,000 copies in its first week, but his last CD, 2004’s Confessions, sold over one-million copies in the same period. Medina told Usher that his latest sales were nothing to be ashamed of, considering the current climate of the record business. But three weeks later, Lil Wayne's album, Tha Carter III, sold more than one-million copies in its 1st week out. An insider says “Usher was livid” and “threatened to fire everyone.” Usher’s mom has been busy running her own record label and managing other artists, including Usher's brother, JLack.
