(something about us!)~From the cars that we drive to the clothes that we wear from the swagger in our walk to the confidence in our stare, on t.v, radio, internet, our cultures everywhere were innovative enough to set cultural trends yet we still lack the social concience to unite within I was told sometimes you have to follow in order to leed but pride stands in our way and we follow nothing but greed on a chase for printed paper we start at an early age thinking what we want is what we need so we stumble out the gates so many I've came across that's filled with self hate dispies the fact that time can't rewind and they committed so many mistakes wouldn't speak a oz of influential words to the youth of today and the only thing holding them back is letting go of blame and accepting they sealed their own fate instead of asking why? Ask why not now? Accept that the past is over and make a change in your present life now, on the flipside its so many positives when it comes to something about us loyalty is essential once you've gained one of our trust respect is earned not giving so appreciation is a must hardships built character so now we laugh at what we didn't have unlocking power you knew you never had self discovery wasn't that bad! Going against the grain and moms telling you the outcome before you did it then sitting in your room remembering that feeling was it resentment? The love between blacks opposed to other races is uncomparrable in my opinion we were taught to hate ourselves our skins unbarrable in the dictionary black is associated with degrading phrases on the other hand white is depicted as pure and innocent now that **** outrageous! Come on people peel your eyes movies like the matrix is real!!!! They made a world that's a prison for the mind because physical slavery doesn't appeal now back to the beggining on why we stumble out the gates the little money you making on the daily they letting you make the record deals sports contracts to them is all fake when you in a position of real power is when you pose a threat to their race now in the beggining of this poem I said "its something about us" that something is awarness that we lack the thought of. (After word) people in no way shape or form is this poem meant to come off derogatory towards any race, I am meerly advocating awarness on my race behalf as well as everyone else's in my opinion everyone should be aware of the times and enviorment we live in as well as the powers to be intentions.
